Red Raven Tarot is comprised of 78 tarot cards. The cards are covered in overlapping smears of red and black ink. The imagery of this deck is inspired by emotional experiences and a respect for human nature. The colors are borrowed from chough (red-billed crow). Eyes allow us to view the reflection of life in our body, soul, and mind. For me, tarot is a wonderful method to incorporate knowledge and ideas into something that is both useful and artistically attractive.
The tarot cards are typically upright and measure 2.75"x4.75”. The Red Raven Tarot's layout is horizontal to give off an airy, picture-frame-like impression of space.
• In order to demonstrate progression, the Roman numerals IV, IX, XIV, and XIX are written as IiII, VIiII, XIiII, and XVIiII. This type of Roman numeral is also used in old tarot decks.
